    General Catering Assistant - Term Time

    Lancing College is seeking to recruit a Term Time General Catering Assistant. Hours of work to mainly work during term time (33 weeks, plus an additional 8 weeks during holidays), 40 hours per week and will involve working in rotas, to include evenings and weekends.

    To assist the Catering Manager, Head Chef, Second Chef and Catering Supervisors in the responsibility for ensuring the maintenance of high standards within the catering team. Covering provision of food to agreed standards, hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.

    Senior Chef de Partie

    Lancing College is seeking to recruit a Senior Chef de Partie to work within the College. The position will assist the Head/Sous Chef in the provision of food to the agreed standard within the budgetary limitations and the School’s standards.  

    This is a full time position. Hours of work will be 40 hours per week, for five days out of seven, for 52 weeks of the year.

    Marketing and Fundraising Intern

    Lancing College wishes to appoint an intern for 1 year in its Marketing, Admissions and Development team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious person to gain good experience across a range of marketing and fundraising activities and at the same time take ownership of some small projects. The intern will be part of a small and energetic team and will report to the Director. The internship will also include a programme of support and development across marketing disciplines to enhance future employability opportunities.

    The position would be suited to a new or recent graduate who has a genuine interest in pursuing a career in marketing and development. Previous experience of working within a demanding customer service environment would be advantageous. The intern would be expected to start in September 2017 and will be for a fixed term ending in August 2018.

    Part Time Café Assistant (Evenings)

    Lancing College is seeking to appoint an evening Café Assistant to provide food to the agreed standard within the budgetary limitations and maintain high standards in both hygiene and Health and Safety. Hours of work will be: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Evenings, 7.30 pm to 11.00 pm, term time only, plus 9 afternoons in the Summer Holidays.

    The successful applicant would be responsible for ensuring all foods were served in accordance to College standards, menus and signage were correct and food handling practices monitored.

    Candidates should have excellent customer service skills, be an effective team player, and be flexible in their approach to customer needs.  Experience of working in the hospitality industry would be desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

    Part Time Cleaner

    Lancing College is looking to recruit a part time morning cleaner to work within the College as part of the Central Cleaning team.  Experience is not essential as full training will be given.

    The department covers a diverse range of support functions, including all aspects of housekeeping, cleaning and some light portering.  The cleaner will work within a team to upkeep both internal and external areas of the College, including room set ups for school purposes and external functions.

    The hours will be 06.30am – 10.30am, Monday - Friday. However these times may vary slightly from time to time to suit the needs of the business.  Also the employee may be required to work on occasion to assist with special events held at the College.

    Science Technician

    Lancing College is seeking to recruit a part time Science Technician (0.8 of full time equivalent) to work primarily in the Biology Department, but also supporting the Physics and Chemistry Departments.  This role is for term time only, plus three days at the end of term plus three days prior to the start of every term.

    Science GCSEs are essential, with A Levels preferable in at least one science.

    Payroll Officer

    Lancing College is seeking to recruit a payroll officer. This is a full time position, working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday with one hour unpaid lunch break, but some flexibility is required.

    The main responsibilities will include all aspects of payroll and pensions for around 450 employers of Lancing College, Lancing College Preparatory School at Hove, Lancing College Preparatory School at Worthing and Buxbrass Ltd. To provide support to the Bursar, Finance Manager, HR Manager and Bursary Office as directed.

    The ideal candidate will be a positive, self-motivated person, able to work unsupervised, with a highly organised and methodical approach to work. Have the ability to deal effectively with confidential and sensitive information. Will be required to have excellent time management, with strong administration, telephone and interpersonal communication skills and ability to deal with people at all levels.

    We welcome applications from candidates who have proven experience of working at senior management level, with relevant professional experience. Some knowledge of, and empathy with, the independent school sector would be advantageous but not essential.
