    IT Technician

    Lancing College is seeking to recruit an IT Technician. This is a full time post, working hours will be Monday to Friday, 08.30 – 17.45 and Saturday Mornings 08.30 – 12.30 term time only, on a rota basis.

    Lancing College runs a Server 2012 / windows 7 network of approximately 25 Servers, 550 PCs and laptops supporting 1500+ users over three sites. We have two suites of Apple iMacs. We support Pupils own devices on a BYOD basis and all pupils and teachers are issued with an iPad. 

    IT Technician duties will include (but not exclusively), assisting with proposed IT related projects, day-to-day tasks associated with the College’s and Prep School’s computer systems. Training will be given on the College’s internal proprietary systems, knowledge and experience of working with, Apple hardware / software, supporting Windows desktop support and application support is all desirable skills. 

    The ideal candidate would be an individual, with at least two years’ experience in a technical role, who is forward thinking and can cope with the day to day issues of a busy IT department.  We are looking for someone who will take pride in their work and they will support and bolster the professional image of the IT department.  In an environment perfect for expanding IT skills we are looking for a committed, enthusiastic, motivated and focused individual to join our thriving team.  

    The post is primarily based at the main Lancing College campus but travel to the Lancing College Preparatory Schools at Hove and Worthing will be a regular feature of employment.  A driving licence and appropriate personal transport are therefore essential.

    Minibus Driver

    Lancing College is looking to recruit a Minibus Drivers at all 3 sites. Driving a variety of vehicles to transport Preparatory School and College students.

    This post would suit a person with a conscientious, approachable and flexible attitude and confident working with young people and children. Other duties would include carrying out pre and post journey drivers’ vehicle checks.

    The applicant must possess a full, UK Driving Licence (D1 NFHR minimum), be aged between 23 and 70 (Insurance requirement) and be willing to attend further associated courses and training as necessary.

    The hours are variable and both morning and evenings hours are available to suit.

    Fundraising Manager (Chapel Project)

    The vacancy arises to provide fundraising cover for a 6 month fixed term contract from February 2017 for the Chapel Porch Completion Project. Subject to successful completion of this initial phase of the project, there may be an option to extend the duration of the contract to completion of the Chapel Porch.

    This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Foundation Office of a busy and successful academic institution. The successful candidate will join the Foundation Office as Chapel Fundraising Manager working alongside the team in the Foundation Office and the Steward of Lancing Chapel.

    We welcome applications from candidates educated to degree level or equivalent and who have some relevant professional experience. The successful candidate will have a clear understanding of fundraising principles, experience of working on fundraising for Heritage/church projects is also highly desirable.

    The Lancing Chapel Porch project has recently been given the approval to enter a “quiet phase” of a fundraising campaign prior to a public launch planned in the Autumn of 2017.  

    The Chapel Fundraising Manager will play an important role in securing the target of £2.1m (of which £780,000 is secured already) by June 2017 in pledges and funds required to proceed to the next phase of the project.  This is a specific, short-term position and will focus entirely on the Porch Completion Project. 

    The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and highly motivated person who is fully computer literate and experienced in the use of Microsoft Office and databases although training will be given on the College’s fundraising software (Raiser’s Edge).

    Kitchen Porter

    Lancing College is seeking to recruit a Kitchen Porter to assist the Catering Manager, Head Chef, Second Chef and Catering Supervisors in the responsibility for ensuring the maintenance of high standards within the catering team. Covering provision of food to agreed standards, hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.

    Hours of work will be 40 hours per week, to include evenings and weekends.

    Chef - Full Time

    Lancing College is seeking to recruit a Chef to work within the College. The position will assist the Head/Sous Chef in the provision of food to the agreed standard within the budgetary limitations and the School’s standards.  

    This is a full time position, hours of work will be 40 hours per week, for five days out of seven, for 52 weeks of the year.

    Payroll Officer

    Lancing College is seeking to recruit a payroll officer. This is a full time position, working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday with one hour unpaid lunch break, but some flexibility is required.

    The main responsibilities will include all aspects of payroll and pensions for around 415 employees of Lancing College, Lancing College Preparatory School at Hove, Lancing College Preparatory School at Worthing and Buxbrass Ltd. To provide support to the Bursar, Finance Manager, HR Manager and Bursary Office as directed.

    The ideal candidate will be a positive, self-motivated person, able to work unsupervised, with a highly organised and methodical approach to work. Have the ability to deal effectively with confidential and sensitive information. Will be required to have excellent time management, with strong administration, telephone and interpersonal communication skills and ability to deal with people at all levels.

    We welcome applications from candidates who have proven experience of working at senior management level, with relevant professional experience. Some knowledge of, and empathy with, the independent school sector would be advantageous but not essential.
