  • Visit us

We hold three Open Mornings every year in March, May and October to which parents are warmly invited to attend with their children. This is followed by with an invitation to visit the school on a normal school day to meet with the Head, to see the school in action on a personal tour and meet some of our pupils and staff.  Alternatively, parents may prefer to arrange the personal visit and tour direct. We welcome either route, although we would always recommend that parents visit the school before applying for a place.

Our next Open Morning is on Saturday 14 October from 10.00am to 12 noon.

Please contact Kay Piper on 01903 201123 for more information or book online

  • Register for a place

The next stage in the process is for parents to register their interest in a place for their child by completing the Application form and returning it to Kay Piper with the non-refundable registration fee of £50.

  • Taster Day

We invite parents to send their child for a Taster Day to enable them and their child to experience first-hand life in the school as part of a normal school day. They will meet other children of the same age and take part in lessons and activities.

During the course of the day, the school will assess the level the child is currently working at so that we can ensure that the child’s individual needs can be met by the education we offer.

  • Offer of a place

Subject to Registration, a successful Taster Day, for Year 1 entry and above a reference from the head of the child's current school, and the availability of a place, parents will receive an offer letter. Should they decide to accept the place, then the acceptance form should be completed and returned to the school, along with ancillary forms, together with the entry deposit of £200. This is held by the school and refunded, less any charges, on the final account when the child leaves the school.

The place will be confirmed and we will keep in touch with parents from that point onwards with information about the school and invitations to school events that may interest them, prior to their child joining the school.

  • Meals

Our recently refurbished school hall provides a light and airy lunch room where pupils and staff share a freshly cooked, nutritious hot meal every day. There is always a vegetarian option and salad bar available. Our ingredients are high quality and sourced from local suppliers, wherever possible. Parents are given menu plans every week.

  • Uniform

Lancing Prep at Worthing pupils are expected to wear the school uniform, which is both smart and practical.  Details of uniform and how to purchase it from the Lancing College Shop will be supplied by the school in good time before the child starts at the school.

The Lancing Prep at Worthing Parents’ Association also holds a stock of second hand uniform in good condition.

  • Year 7 Entry and Scholarships

Year 7 entry is available to children joining the school from primary schools or other independent schools. It offers the experience of the upper years at our school which gives them the opportunity to develop leadership and academic skills further and acts as an excellent transition to entry into the world of Senior School education in Year 9.

We work closely with parents over those two years to offer advice on the options for their child's move to the next stage in their school career.

We offer Year 7 academic scholarships to exceptionally talented children joining us from other schools. For those considering Lancing College as a Senior School destination in Year 9, this may be an attractive pathway to consider, although we cannot guarantee the outcome of any scholarship application to Lancing College.

In 2016, Lancing Prep at Worthing pupils moved up to Lancing College with a range of Academic, All Rounder (known as the Ken Shearward Award), Music and Sports awards. Please note that Year 7 scholarship applications are now closed for entry in September 2017.
